What is sujood meaning?

Sujood is a term used in Islam that refers to the act of prostration. It is an important part of the prayer ritual, where a believer lowers their forehead to the ground in a sign of submission and humility before Allah. The act of sujood is preceded by standing, then bowing, then standing upright again, and finally touching the ground with one's forehead and nose. Sujood is performed in each rak'ah (unit) of the five daily prayers, as well as in many other rituals such as during the reading of the Quran or the recitation of specific supplications. It is believed that sujood helps to increase humility, bring one closer to Allah, and gain spiritual strength.
